Episode 134: Lost Phish tapes — found!

This week our guest is Jeff Goldberg, a professional audio technician, archivist, and engineer who recently remastered two Phish shows that were previously unreleased and unavailable to the community (4/8/90 and 4/8/92).

The tapes came from Page. Listen to hear all about it. Here is the Phish.net post that links to the full shows and the story of how these shows came to light. We talk to him a lot about this and about his Phish journey and play some Phish (set below).

We're doing a ticket giveaway contest around the SweetWater 420 Fest in Atlanta. Please enter to win tickets to Bonnaroo and LOCKN' or a Rift LP signed by Tom Marshall. Thanks for participating!

Episode 133: Island Tour 20 Years Later

Well, here we are, 20 years later. Still upside down, from the Island Tour. We had to celebrate this awesome run, so we talk about a notable jam from each night. We had some laughs, discussed the legacy of the run and how it looks from 20 years out, and then we played some Phish. We hope you enjoy. After all, our intent is all for your delight.

Here's one of the videos Matt mentioned from the Island Tour. Really good stuff. This is the "Twist," but search for others!

Episode 131: Phish in Japan '99 & '00

We're back this week with Todd Ahrens, a previous guest who is here to talk about seeing Phish in Japan in both 1999 and 2000. He's incredibly lucky for having gone to both of these runs, and he shares his memories with us. You can read much more about his experiences here on his blog. And here's a video he put together about Phish at the Fuji Rock Festival. You can listen to the episode in the player below, or download it here.

In some ways, this is a continuation of our 1999 episode, as Jonathan got the idea for this while we were recording that. He remembered that Todd was there, and that this deserved a lot more attention. So here we are, but we couldn't have just done '99, so we went on to '00 as well. Tracks below.

Episode 128: Revisiting 1999 Pt. 2

Hello, HF Pod fam. Thank you for all the great feedback on part 1 of our recap of 1999 with Wade. We're back for part 2, when things get darker, weirder, more exploratory and, some would say, more awesome.

We pick this one up at the beginning of the Fall Tour, and wind our way through the December tour, where we ponder the end of the millennium and the importance of Big Cypress. We decided to not wade into Big Cypress, but to instead create a much more fulsome episode about that sometime soon.

Thank you for listening. please take a moment to review us on iTunes, and also check out HF Pod Plus for more music and discussion. Until next time...

Episode 126: New Year's Run 2017 Recap

Happy new year! This week, we're back with a new episode, recapping the tremendous New Year's run that Phish just finished at Madison Square Garden. Setlists here, shows here.

We talk about the shows, and then play our really fun live recording we did at American Beauty on December 29. That was part of the PhanArt extravaganza, and we opened for Polyvamp, which put on a great show.

If you want to support HF Pod, you can do so by checking out HF Pod Plus. We do more in-depth analysis of shows and tours. And we ask people to donate as little as $1/month. The money helps us with hosting and equipment costs, and helps us put on shows like the one we did at American Beauty.

Lastly, please take a moment to review us on iTunes. Thanks for your support!
