Episode 114: Baker's Dozen Recap

We're back with a new episode, this week we recap the Baker's Dozen run with a few different segments. We start with the interview we did with Tom Marshall at our live podcast event on Saturday, July 29 at American Beauty NYC. We're looking forward to doing more of these live events!

We also talked with 3 fans who did all 13 shows—Dianna, Joseph and Zach—who share some of their perspectives on the run.

We also play some music, of course. Hope you enjoy. You can listen to the episode directly here.

Thanks everyone who sent their own takes on the Baker's Dozen throughout the run. It was great to hear from so many fans.

Quick Hit Bonus: "Behind the Donuts" w/Felicia

We're really excited to chat with Felicia today about her experience so far at MSG and, of course, donuts. She tells us about how the partnership between Federal Donuts and Phish came together, and how they actually pulled this thing off. Congrats to Federal Donuts for such an amazing contribution to this run. So much more in store. You can listen directly to the conversation here.

We also play a bit of the Moma Dance from night 2, which Felicia especially appreciated.

If you're not familiar with Federal Donuts, they are based in Philly and just opened the first shop outside of Philadelphia, in Miami. They're also releasing a cookbook in September, and they do some awesome philanthropic work through Rooster Soup Co.

We'll be back tomorrow with another Quick Hit from night 4 (jam is the theme!). If you haven't yet, RSVP for our live podcast recording this Saturday at American Beauty NYC.

Episode 109: Tribute to Col. Bruce Hampton

This week we take a moment to say farewell to a man who has touched and influenced so many in our scene, Colonel Bruce Hampton, Ret. He has often been referred to as a "godfather of the jam scene," and he was respected and loved by so many.

He was a leader of the jamband scene, as it grew from the clubs of the late 80s and spawned H.O.R.D.E. in the early 90s and through to today. He passed surrounded by loved ones, friends, and fans, doing what he did for so long, introducing the unexpected into music. Whether it be the Hampton Grease Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Fiji Mariners, the Code Talkers, or playing Trombone with Phis, he provoked his fellow players to circumvent the obvious and inspired them to rise to ever greater heights.

This episode focuses on the intersections of Col. Bruce and Phish, of course, and also some other music (see below). You can listen to this episode here

A few other things: please give us input into our survey about how Phish has impacted your life. We have some good ideas for what to do with this stuff, so get your submission in!
