Episode 75: Special Guest Alan Paul

This week, we're really honored to have author, journalist and musician Alan Paul join us. We talk about his conversations with Trey; hanging out with Phish, Ween, Phil Lesh, and the Allmans; and about his music fandom. He shares a wealth of knowledge about music, and we talk about two of his books—Reckoning: Conversations With the Grateful Dead and One Way Out (THE book on the Allman Brothers Band). Hope you enjoy this really fun conversation.

We split this episode into 2 parts (tracks below). You can download Part 1 directly here and Part 2 here.

Episode 74: Year in Review Phish 2015

2015 was a hell of a year for Phish. We attempt to do it justice in Episode 74, with a great group of guests joining us for this 3-part episode. Each part touches on a different theme, with Part 1 focused on the new material that was released this year and Part 2 focused on the evolution of improvisation in 2015. Part 3 includes some jams we think you shouldn't miss -- music without discussion. Tracks for Parts 1-3 below. We appreciate Allie, Chris, Zac and Dianna joining us for this really fun episode.

This past year was a little different for Phish. Fewer shows, no Fall tour, Trey guest starring in Fare Thee Well shows, Magnaball, and another glorious New Year's run at Madison Square Garden. And even though we got fewer shows, we all agreed that almost every show had something special. We talk a lot about how this year fits into the band's history, and where they go from here.
